Let’s Sleep On It.
“The bed comprehends our whole life; for we were born in it, we live in it, and we shall die in it.”
- Guy de Maupassant.
A bed can mean numerous things to someone. Whether it’s a sanctuary to sleep, somewhere to hide, a place for intimacy or the main feature of a room.
In reference to my last body of work, not only the beds but the environments of the people I know and love have been photographed. These beds have been captured in a way that I see them almost every time I am around them.
Present within these images are the surrounding environments the beds are central to. The way in which the room and bed are kept reflects a signature of the owner, as they leave a piece of themselves within their belongings.
This project revolves around the comfort and familiar that is present in peoples living quarters.
